Last Tuesday, was heavy raining in Slovenia and it cause a disaster to our region but the most expected was our valley. 350 houses was destroyed by floods, 4 factories left with heavy mud, the health center and pharmacist also destroyed, 150 cars was destroyed, still remote areas are not passable. One woman died trying to rescue her car. Residence cleaning their houses 24 hours. Everything was ruined by the floods.

Many volunteers came to help us (firemen, volunteers people,human disaster coordinator, red cross and humanitarian).

SLOVENIA, A Diversity to discover

Were back from 11 days vacation in slovenian coast. Twins really enjoyed diverse environment, they really love to swim, two years they were afraid when we tried to put them in the water, this year it was great time maybe because they old and big enough. The only problem are mosquitos, twins was stung all over their body, patrick was ill for few days I didnt know why his sick but his okey now, thank God Joshua wasnt contagious.

Furthermore, I really like the Piran, the construction of the apartment, very narrow streets. Many time I saw cars passing by its unbelievable. I cant imagine myself driving my car on the narrow street like in piran.

First detail recordings of Piran go back to 7th century AD. Piran was reported to be fortified Byzantine town intended to guard against newcomers Slavs in the area.

After the fall of Roman Empire Piran changed many rulers. But the prosperity of Piran as a city began with the rise of Venice with whom they had signed a trade treaty in 933 AD. Since it had a good trade position and was also successful at harvesting salt, a precious item at the time, Piran started to gain power which led to war with Venice 1282 AD. After that Piran was loyal to Venetian rule and enjoyed time of relative peace and prosperity.

The Slavs that inhabited the area since 7th century was allowed in the city in the 1463 by the city council and became the part of history of Piran

In 1692 was born Piran's most known person Giuseppe Tartini. His most famous work is the "Devil's Trill sonata", a solo violin sonata. He died in 1770 and is buried in Padova

The 1797 saw the end of Venetian era. First Napoleon and then Habsburg monarchy took over the rule over Piran which lasted until 1918. After the World War I the city and the whole of Istria was captured by Italians and it stayed that way until the end of World War II when Piran and Istria joined the Yugoslavia after the plebiscite. Since Slovenia vote for independence in 1991 Piran is a part of the slovenian coastline.

Yes, we had a picnic again, its already a tradition for the Filipina who lived and married in SLOV. This is the only chance to chat and see each other personal. This year we met a new pinay, the population or the community of the pinay here in slovenia is increasing. Its nice to have a gathering like this. We really had fun.

Less than 30 pinays/pinoys lived here in SLOV., o diba ang dami na namin before when I came here we are only 3 or 4 pinay.

Last saturday, me and Marko went to Venice with the alpetour tourist agency. Finally we get away atleast for one day. My sister took care of the twins.

We left the house at 5 o clock in the morning then we arrived in Punta Sabbioni at ten o clock. We took the boat. Boat is the only access to visit one island to another, also for picking up the dump, foods, First aid, everything. According to our tourist guide,

Venetian people are very sensitive theyre not happy, tourists coming to visit the venice, reason was they wanted to kept their heritage, to buy apartments or lots not possible.

Our first stop was Borano island, a very interesting place, colorful houses. Bride choose the color to paint the house its very traditional. Many souveniers can buy on the streets like on this picture. Then Morano island, where this artistic glas located then last the Venice. We drove 4 hours for one way.

Family Demsar, Hiking for the first time in Saint Jošt, togehter with the Twins.

Our first hiking together with the twins. I dont remember exactly when was the last time, at first i thought it will be difficult, twins are still kids but everything went well. We walked two hours to the top and one hour on the way back. On half way, theres three way going to the top but we didnt know which is the easies way, we decided to turn right but unfortunately we choose the steep way which not good for the twins to continue so we decided to back on the halfway then we ask the others hikers which is the easies way for us to continue, they said the right way. then we continue until we reached the peak of Saint Jošt

A one day trip from Austria. Twice a year we go to austria for shopping for the twins clothes , yes we buy clothes for them in austria, why because is much cheaper compare it here. But this year C&A store will open 3000 outlets all over Slovenia. Since were already in austria yesterday I grab the opportunity to buy some filipino products.

After shopping, we went to Worther Lake, it really beautiful, good for relaxing, beautiful view and quit place.

Ski jumping competition starts last thursday and will end on Sunday. Thursday, Children day and alcohol was strictly prohibited. Each year the Insurance company Triglav d.d.is one of the sponsor brings more then 3000 youngsters to see the competiton.They keep this as a tradition already.

So, we decided to go, This is the largest event in Slovenian. We planned this already two years ago but we cancelled twice for the reason, twins still young and we think this year was the right time. winter this year it was not so cold compare with the previous years. Were really happy we went to watched it. Twins had really great time.

By the way Planica is located on the western most valley in the northwest part of Julian Alps.

Year 2006 it was great year for us , January I got the approval of my citizenship,.

June our vacation around Europe, Stresa Italy, Switszerland, Kitzbuhel, Innsbrucks, Globglockner austria. After our grand vacation I started the actual driving lesson, November 10 I passed the exam. Since then I drive on my own.

December, After christmas we went to Vienna Austria, to visit my husband friend. He met him cycling around Alaska it was year 1998.

November 10 ( Happy Day)

Friday morning ( November 10) I passed the actual driving exam and finally got the driving license as you can see on the pictures. It took me a longtime to have this license. Now im driving with my one. I dont need to ask my hubby to drive on the shopping mall or supermarket. Until now i cant still believe that I have the driving license already, getting the driving license in other country is difficult like here in Slovenia. I am very proud to myself (hehehe). I am the first pinay, enrolled the driving lesson, passed all the exams. I should be proud diba.

HOW TO GET THE DRIVING LICENSE HERE IN SLOVENIA

Passed the first aid exam ( I attend two day course and it cost me 70 Euro)

Medical check up (If you are capable to drive a car)

Passed the exam for traffic rules and signs ( It was 4 days course and I pay 40 Euro)

The maximum driving is 40 hours others are so luck to have this hours, Me I had 49 hours. (1 hours it cost 15 Euro )

while you have a driving lesson, you have to passed the Theory exam if cant passed you can go with the preliminary or the final actual driving.

(before I got this driving license it was cost me 1,536.33 Euro all in all including my bus expenses too expensive isnt it.)

My instructor told me getting the driving license here in Slovenia is very difficult and conflicated. Many Students from high school are lucky to pass the actual driving exam for one time others they passed for the fourth time. I am lucky that I passed for the first time. If you failed fourth time you have to enroll or applied for the theory exam.

Hi guys it been awhile, sorry I was so busy but anyway im back. Last month we celebrate twins bday. I invited some pinay friends and my inlaws. I wasnt able to post soon because I was two months without internet. Twins are really growing and energetic boys. Many words can say now, they know few tagalogs and english words. Hi guys, ang tagal ko pa lang na wala, busy tayo sa driving school. My driving is not yet finish.

anyway this pictures still part from our trip one month ago. On the way home from our trip in switzerland we decide to stay for two days in Kitzbuhel austria, to check out the place where my husband go to watch the Downhill competition for skiing (held on the third week of january)here in kitzbuhel. Going to top we took the cable car. We walked around and enjoy the view from the top. It really beautiful. On the way home instead of taking the Motorway we decide to take the Highest Mountain pass in Austria (its called globlockner).

Our last day, we buy some souvenirs and Asian Foods, here in slovenia is very expensive, in switzerland is three times cheaper so I grub the opportunity to buy some pinoy products. In the evening our Friends (Ernst and Bas) prepared us a small farewall party with their few friends. Here some pictures again, enjoying watching.

Third day in switzerland we went to Niederhorn, one of the tourist place, People coming here for hiking, see the view of the Lake of thun on the top and Mountain around the Lake, Its only 15 minutes away from the City. Niederhorn is 1950 meter high, goin up you dont need to walk you just take the this Electric wire transit.

Burn Capital of Switzerland

On our second day in switzerland we spent our day in the capital, Burn is a small city which is located in the middle of the country. Second cities are Zurich and Geneve. Burn is similar in Vienna, austria they have this tramway in the middle of the city. What is good here when you go around the City for the whole day especially for the tourist, you can buy ticket for the whole day and its valid for all public transportation. Shopping malls here in burn are open until in the afternoon during the weekend. Ive noticed here is more lesser cars, majority take the public transportation and very organize city. After go around the city we went to the Tierpark, and then to Gurten park. Here some of the pictures.

Hi guys im back from vacation, I have many pictures to post but i cant do it once so I decided to post the first part of our trip. we stayed in our friends apartment. We went to swiss by car it was 1000 km from our house, normally it just one day trip but we decided to do it in two days we stopped in stresa Italy and stayed one night in Hotel camea. next day we continue our journey to swiss. We passed many tunnels, swiss is one of the best country, twenty percent of the people are foreigns, I met two filipina who are married there. Here some of the pictures.

Its been awhile seen my last post. This past few days or month I was very busy with my driving school. Anyway we are on the Early vacation on June 15 were going to Switzerland. Its 10 hours driving with the car. We are going to past some few countries. My hubby and I decide to stay in Stresa, Italy for one night, he said Stresa is a beautiful town. He was here 10 years ago with the bike. This is our first long trip with the twins.

Its been four days straight was raining. Yesterday was diffirent it was sunny day. We take the chance to visit the tulips exhibit, at the start when we came inside twins starts crying I dont why maybe because of two much crowded. then, they dont like to walked. My husband and I are complaining coz twins dont like to walked. I figure out maybe they just hungry. We sit on the bench gave their snack after a few minutes my sister inlaw came and she invites us to join them. She said, Tanita (her daughter) feeding the ducks. Brief of Everything

Hi guys, ang tagal ko pa lang na wala sa ere, almost a month na. Well, Ive been busy for a fast few days i mean weeks. Im having the self study for first Aid and Traffic signs this past weeks coz im intending to enroll for driving school. Taking the driving school here is a little bit hard. Hard coz is in slovene and kinda expensive. The First aid cost almost hundred dollar. Before the actual driving I had to past the first aid and traffic signs and I had to go to Doctor for general Check up, If im capable to drive. Since I dont have the job yet, I realize to make something worth it on myself by doing the the driving course. I hope next month they will have enough students to attend the First Aid course so i can enrolled.

On the otherhand Twins are 2 years old and 6 months now, At this stage they started to talked some slovene languages. Their interest are readings, coloring, computering, showing their talents or new toys and new shoes to others. Always in good mood very energetic, they smiled alot. They love music, for now their favorite Bruce springsteen and Eros ramazzotti music the italian singer. They still dancing a lot, ofcourse fighting and biting from each other.
There also the reason na wala ako sa ere, it been to weeks now thier attitudes kinda little bit changes, they always wanted me to played with them, they dont even allow me to cooking or doing the housecleaning or my laundry always mommy, even I go to the bathroom or refresh myself there still beside me, ayaw nila akong pakawalan. Twins they grow so fast the more they grow the more I have the responsibilities ang hirap pa lang maging nanay sa dalawang bata I feel i have ten children but Im very happy and satisfied having twins.

A few days ago DAY tag me.

How did you feel during those first few days after the birth?
Prior to giving birth I was in the hospital already for three weeks for observation. I had the C section. I was tired and self deprived. All I wanted to rest and had some sleep.It was snowing that time. Next day nurse brought the twins in my room to breastfeed them. First time to see my twins. I was on the ICU room lying and resting for three days. Twins are diligent they didnt give me a problem.

How were you emotionally?
Ofcourse I was very happy at same time scared, looking with my two little tiny twins starting asking question Am I able to perform my job as a mom. How can I take care two babies simultaneously. My life was totally change. Thanks to hunny, he was there supporting me.

Is there anything you wish people had told you about the postpartum period?

Not really, prior to giving birth Hubby and I attended the seminar about the postpartum period. Govt in slovenia have this program for the parents. Helping you to be prepared. Aside from that Govt. giving you right to stay at home until one year (if you have one baby) more one (additional 3 months) Since we have twins. Hubby stayed at home for 15 months ofcourse with pay.

How long do you plan to breastfeed?

I already start the feeding bottle in the Hospital. I didnt have the choice. My milk supply is enough but I had two babies to breastfeed its hard to breastfeed simultaneously. After four months my milk wasnt enough for one. I decided to stop breastfeeding.

Do you have any advice for getting through those first weeks of breastfeeding?

Like I said I attend the seminar. Part of the seminar the breastfeeding lesson. Another benefit which the govt provide nurse to visit you at home helping you out for atleast first to three months.

Was there any stress between you and your husband over the baby?
none, We are both happy. Our relationship made it stronger than ever. Beside we wish both to have a family.

Let's talk about your body, Did things get totally rearranged?

not much, size of my trousers change.

Care to share how much you weighed before and how much now?

Prior to pregnancy I was 55 kls. then when I was pregnant I gained another 20kls. now Im back to 55.

What advice-or comfort-can you offer other new moms about their weight ?

Dont rush yourself. Give yourself time. Breastfeeding helping your body back to normal.
It happen to me when I started breastfeeding the twins I lost 5 kls. for two months.

How important is it for you to have a work identity?

There are many time I miss my job . I miss it in the sense that I love earning in my own. I dont wanna depend on my husband salary and I would like to help in house expenses. Now the twins came Its hard to leave them at home with their grandsparents.
when the twins get ill . Im thankful to God that im not working. This coming september, were planning to register twins in the kindergarden becuase im planning to work again.

Was your baby a lot of fun right from the start?

NO. I need to do it twice and they cried a lot.

What's your baby like now?

Twins are turning 3 years old this year. Diligent and lithe twins, very energetic, following the rules of mommy,They love listen music of Bruce Springsteen, They dance a lot. They talk on their own language nobody understood them. We talk 3 languages at home (slovene,english and tagalog maybe this the reason why dont talk it yet.). Sometime they fight, bighting, get jealous from each other.

It would be nice to hear from other mommys too. so, If your not busy with your little one care to share, vanessa, justice, pipay and des im tagging you.

This month is very important to me. On the 12 of March I will celebrate my bday, its another year for me, next year my age will be no longer on the calendar but its ok, People start feeling young when they reached the age of thirty. when im looking on the mirror I feel that my teenage life just started. Im still thinking how to celebrate my bday.

on the 17th of March, Patrick will celebrate his name day ( one of my twins). In Ireland a Saint Patrick Day, for those who didnt know, people in slovenia celebrates there bday twice, his name day and his bday( the day he was born). My hubby asking me, why I dont have the name day, I told him in the phils., is not common.

Tired and disappointed

I woke up early in the morning not to be late on my appointment. I had an appointment to the Department of Employment this morning. I took the bus and I arrived early. while im waiting , I went to coffee shop and drunk coffee with one french bread then I went strait to the DOE. When I came to the office of this girl ( the person incharge for help the non employment people). I asked her, If they find anything for me, she said still searching and she said maybe I need to start from the lower position and I said Ok, but deep inside im disappointed. I was in thier list since last year September. I dont know what to think about anymore. I feel hopeless. I do also the searching by myself through the internet but most of the time Im too tired, most of you, know that I have twins, having twins its a lot of work.

My husband keeping telling me, think positive. Sometimes I feel sorry to myself. Studying four years in Manila for nothing (im commerce graduate). I need the job desperatelyyyyyyyyyyy.

Last time we went to the store and my husband bought a black board. He want to learn some basic words in Tagalog, as you can see on the picture. Those words which you seen he knows already. I told him Tagalog is very easy to learn unlike the slovene is very complicated, they have the dual which we dont have it.

Since my husband start learning Tagalog, I cam out to the Idea to write some Basic words in slovene language.

Frozen lake

We spend our weekend in bled (Blejska jezera) to have a look if its true the lake frozen.
First we just saw on Tv news that people enjoying walking and skating in this frozen lake. Atfirst I didnt believed it people walking in this lake last sunday I saw on my own eyes .

Unbelievable but I didnt try it. According to my sister inlaw every year atleast oneslife take off.

Thanks God, after a year of waiting getting the slovenen citizenship, finally approved. Yes im a slovenian citizenship now, I just got a letter last week to accept the Slovene citizenship. My hubby teasing me, that i am now a european and slovenian girl and I said just only the paper matter but my heart and my soul are hundred percent pinay.

Privileges having the slovene citizenship. I do need the visa outside the slovenia also around Europe and other countries. Also Hopefully I can find the job now Ive been here now for almost six years since then nothing. I missed my work so much, own money etc. Finding the job here is very difficult, the slovene citizenship are more priorities not unless they dont the right applicants then they choose the foreign one.

On the other hand Im very sad because I dont have the filipino citizenship anymore. Slovenian govt, didnt allow me to have the Dual citizenship.

and bake it for 200 dgrs for about 15 minutes.

Hi guys, Its been one month that I was absent. I was too busy many knows that I have a twins, Its been a months now that there health was unstabled because of the weather Its too cold here in Europe.

Anyway, Yesterday I received a Invitation letter form the Local Internal Affairs regarding my getting the slovene citizenship, it was written that I have to go to their office and bring together this Invitation letter. I dont know the next reason, Well Ill keeping you posted:

Twins Birthday (2nd year)

The first picture was taken a day before the celebration. Yup, you here right my boys are two yrs old already. Now a days kids grow very fast and they are more curious about all the things happening with them. My twins love to check everything they saw even the computer they try to press the key and removed the mouse from the PC. They dont talk yet,

The next day was the big celebration. Preparing for their bday its a lot of work to do. Friday I went to shopping. I didnt cook a lot because I order LECHON you know less cooking. I just fried some chickens, Lumpiang shanghai and ofcourse our tradional food PANCIT.

Beginning of the Citizenship procedure

Last October 13, I received a letter from the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding my application for getting the Slovenian citizenship. It written on the letter, I need to submit a new NBI CLEARANCE from the Phils. and my TAX NUMBER here in SLO.

This two documents, I already submitted when I apply last year December, Becuase of the slowness of the people in MIA, my NBI clearance was expired late april this year. If I want to be a ciitizenship here. I had to pleased them. Tomorrow I will send my original NBI copy and authorization letter for my sister to renew again. The MIA office gave me a three months deadline for this two documents.

My hubby was angry, He said is not necessary for me to submit my TAX number as long as he knows the govt have their own connection between each other. Also he tried to call the person incharged but he can´t reach him. MIA office only open for complaints during Monday, Wenesday and Friday.

There are some Pinays had already their citizenship others wait less than a year others more than a year. Also they experienced some problems but different from me. It depends whos the person incharge.

Now, Im waiting for my sister to send me the new NBI CLEARANCE. We will see what will happen next.

Finally I got time to sit on the computer.. Next months the twins will celebrated there 2nd year bday, Since my twins are older enough to enrolled to the kindergarden. I decided to start find a job. Its been five years now that I stop working since I moved to Slovenia. Why it took so long because you have to learn the slovene language without knowing how to speak with their language its hard to find the job. Slovene is the official language not unlike in the philippines is english. I though before that I will wait for my citizenship before start working here. Its been ten months now I didnt recieved any noticed when I will get it. But you know applying for citizenship here is very hard. One of the main requirement is to passed the exam for slovene language which I already passed last year december.

I stared arranged my working permit and my working booklet., Applying for working permit. It took me one month before I received by delivering the postman. Applying for working book in the our community. It took one week. Arranging all this stuff it took a lot of time.

this is what keeping me busy. I already send many applications in differents companies through the internet. Three weeks after that I got the first call from the company Wireless international. I had my first interview. Its a American company they have their branches here in Slovenian. Now, Im waiting for their call to have an interview again at this time with the General manager. I having a second thougths if will go to the second interview I cant leave my twins.

My twins are ill they have cold and cough its been two weeks now that im having hard time to care of the them theyre so annoying maybe its part of growing up. They cried too much. I dont know what to do. Since then I didnt have a problem with them just only now. I have another worries which my son Joshua. He will have a minor operation this coming Monday but im still worried minor or serious operation is almost the same. Were so sure yet If he will have an operation this coming Monday until now his still ill.

Im hoping and praying before start the winter I will start working. Then my twins I will send them to the kindergarden.

Cipkarski dnevi (Lace Festival)

Cipcarski dnevi or Lace Festival is one week festival here in our village. Lacing known only in our village, the old women are expertise. . Its a one week festival. Sunday is the big event, seeing all the Home made products. Other activities aside from lacing like making the woolen socks ,sewing bags, selling the traditional clothes, lacing skeths and ofcourse the slovene music.

Piran, The coast side of Slovenia

Piran is one of the oldest town here in Slovenia. Infrastracture of the houses are so high, street are so narrow, people speak differently. Its a clean and organize city and friendly people. They know how to speak in Italian maybe because Italian city called TRST is more closer than Ljubljana (capital city of SLO). they greet people in Italian not in Slovenian.

Anyway 16 days in Piran (in the coast side). June 9 is the real plan to go to the coast but because of the unsteady condition of the weather we decided to wait until the weather will be good. Sunday evening I watched the television to see the forecast to the next day. June 13, Monday it was sunny day. My husband and I agreed to go on the same day. He started to put all the luggages to the car but I was a little bit worried you know we dont have a big car to put all the stuff in to the car but everything fit it inside thanks to my husband. We left the home late afternoon we arrived in Piran around 6 in the evening but the problem is not yet over question is where we will park the car its hard to find the right place to park the car streets are narrow everything was occupied we allowed to park just to get the luggages out of the car then my husband started put the luggages on the bike and driving it one by one into the house while me and twins waiting in the car just incase the police will come we need to tell him we just bringing all the luggages into the house. This is the one problem here you cannot park the car inside the city only allowed for the residence. Finally everything brought in then my hubby parked the car somewhere in portoroz where the parking place is free and safe ofcourse. While me and the twins still standing on the same place waiting for my husband. Finally my husband came, what a relief ha...everything is settled.

During our firts week , the weather was so warm and swimming is not recommended, we decided to walked around the coast, we spent walking 4 hours a day, two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening, everytime we go walking I need to carry patrick his very lazy he dont like to walk, he dont like to sit on the stroller and he also dont like to drive the bike, he was heavy to cary and my arms and back are pain. He dont like his father he just want me. Diba kawawa ako. In the afternoon while the twins sleeping Im reading the magazine or newspaper my husband he go biking when he comes back He see to it that the twins still sleeping he dont want me to take care of them alone. He knows it hard for me.

Then we visit the Museum and Aquarium. My twins had a great time They really enjoyed the vacation . Hubby and I observed that the Twins has their diffirent likes, Joshua pay attention to dogs and cats while Patrick Airplane and Birds interesting isnt it. Then after a few days weather get better and we tried to wash the foot of the twins by putting into the water you know what happened they are both crying ( patrick said Mamamama.. Nenenenene.) they dont like to swim. I was very suprise at home they enjoyed bathing maybe because of the wave. We tried many times but still they are afraid then we try other solution my sister inlaw, her daughter have this small plastic swimming bath. We try it but Patrick still afraid while joshua, He enjoyed and he dont like to go out from the water. Also we visit the marine, we met some of our friends. My twins also meet new kids. And they saw their fellow twins. Inspite all the problems we encounter at the end we really had a great time and I Hope next year will be more better than this year ofcourse less problem.

Swimming.............swimming..........swimming........... oh I love it. This coming weekend were going to the sea with my husband and the twins for a couple of weeks. I am very excited, this will be different from the previous vacations we had. We will stay on my sister inlaw vacation house.

Pinay´s Reunion

Last saturday we had a piknik in Novo Mesto. It was fun, we had a great time. This idea was started when we had the first reunion last year month of july, since then we do this as a traditional. We dont see often but we sending message thru the mobile you know to see how are you. on the first picture as you can see it a group picture with our spouses and children together with the Philippine Consulate here in Slovenia.

Piknik was held in Mr. Kastelic rest house in Novo mesto. It was started at 12 o clock in the afternoon. Food it was his treat but we brought desserts and fruits with us para hindi naman masyadong nakakahiya diba. He was so kind to us and very helpful. I never experience or heard someone like him to invited all the Pinay´s in his own place. Well as you can see on the next picture Grace sung a tagalog and one english. She a professional singer here in Slovenia. She had a beautiful voice.

We had also the dancing contest but this one on the picture it was the opening ceremeny. Then Mr. kastelic made his speech. He say something about the history of the Spanish how do they come to us and he mention also about Joze Rizal. He was sorry because the Philippine ambassador the Phils. in autria didn´t managed to come because of his very busy but he said he will come on the other time. Aside from us Mr. kastelic family also been there and later on his sister inlaw. Anyway we had the dancing contest like stop dance, eating banana, do you know the game that turning around the chair putting the spoon on your mouth then give over to next person I mean your group something like that. We met also two pinay and one pinoy. Every year there new pinay or pinoy which is good diba were growing. We sung the "Akoy isang pinoy.".

According to Rochel the piknik last until 8 o clok in the evening before they left they clean up everything wife of Mr. kastelic was very thankful, she didnt expected. see ganyan tayong mga pinoy diba. too see more photos

Summer is just around the corner

Thanks god rainy days are over. Since yesterday, here in slovenia is sunrise the temperature 24 degrees, I can say is the right temperature not so cold not very hot but according to the TV journalist here, summer it will be very hot. This coming weekend will be also good weather, A very good day for us tomorrow because Pinays here in Slovenia were having again Reunion in Novo Mesto.

Anyway, I am happy that summer very closed, we can were now wear our summer clothes our swimsuit goodbye for the spring clothes. Summer time, time for adventure, playing tennis, hiking, biking, piknik so many things to do. Speaking of the biking, my hubby trying to convince me to buy my own bike but biking is not for me. Time to go to the beach, fruits festival and Traditional festival.

The most thing a love the summer are the fresh fruits like strawberry, cherries Billberry, apricot, pear and some asians fruits ofcourse dontforget the lettuce. Also Trees are green, the landscape are very beautiful. Speaking of the fruits we have a lot them in our backyard and frontyard. My father inlaw made all these, his an experts in planting. His very sensitive he hate buying fruits on the store. He wants everything made at home.

Arboretom is open the whole year . Arboretom is a huge park aside from the flowers also a fish pond children playground you can do also piknik, horse riding and fishing.

St. Patrick Day, ( March 17) is a national holidays in Ireland. Usually St. Patrick falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish Families traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink, and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

Here in our house we also celebrated the St. Patrick´s Day. One of my twins has his name, which means he has a Name day ( in Slovenia they called it GỞD). Here in Slovenia is a tradition that giving a name to the person base on the Christian Calendar. Everybody they have their own name day or Saint, usually the name day fall one day before your birthday. It means people here in Slovenia celebrated their birthday twice Name day and Bday.

Maybe your wondering why my son has a different name. Actually both of them have an Irish name even Joshua my eldest twins. I hate the slovenian names but not all. Names here are too short and very difficult to pronounced maybe because they have a different letters and accent.

Another year for my Bday. This is my 5th bday which I celebrated here in Slovenia. Usually we celebrated my bday having dinner in the Chinese Restaurant with my husband. But this year I celebrated with my closes friends here and first time with my twins . We had a simple lunch. My husband bake me a cake. I received some gifts from friends, also from my husband.

I spoke with my family on the phone. They wish me a very happy bday. Its sad they are not here with me but Im happy with my second family here and they know that.

I would like to thank the Dear Lord for giving another good year.

Pinay´s living in Slovenia

These are Pinay´s who are living in Slovenia. Last year it was the first time we had a picnic party. 15 All in all Pinay or Pinoy lived here but there two who didnt make it. Picnic party was held in Gina house in Bistrica. Three pairs are sisters. Majority of us met our spouses thru the internet others penpal, others in the philippines. This reunion was published on the Local newspaper ( Panaroma). Slovenians journalist or newpapersman or newspaperwomen love to interview the foreigners especially those who married the Slovenians. Even our Love story was publish local newspaper. Now where ever I go people new that im not from here. They also called me ( chinese girl not a filipina). Even when I was in the Hospital all Doctors and Nurses ask me if I was in the newspaper a year ago and I said yes. Funny thing is that«they remember my name« ( Leticia Calderon from Mexican soap opera). But very soon I will get my citizenship here. Hopefully this year.

Then second time we had a reunion was before Christmas. We met again another new filipinaś and their spouses also. Also we invite the Philippine consul here in Ljubljana. This month another Pinay who will come in Slovenia. As you can see Pinay or Pinoy love to marry the slovenians. Life here is really very nice, clean environment, quiet country, friendly people and nice culture and ofcourse verycold brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

This coming spring were planning to have a reunion again this time between the Labour day in slovenian while in the Philippines Independence day.

Bled Lake

Slovenia is the former Yugoslavian country. Is the LAND OF THE SUNNY SIDE OF THE ALPS and GREEN COUNTRY. A very small country, located in the Central part of Europe (neighbors country are Hungary,austria,italy and croatia). only 2 million inhabitants. Slovenia has eight more less distinct regions. Ljubljana is the Capital. People speak in slovene every regions has there own accent. Tolar is the Currency. Slovenia is new member of the European Union since last year.

People here are very friendly. They love talking. When they talk. They talk very loud. They love sports very much. If peoples from the Balkan peninsula come to slovenia. slovenians reacts diffirently, I dont know why?

Food in Slovenia or they say in slovene Domaca hrana. Potica (cake consisting of a sheet of pastry spread with a rich filling and rolled up)Krofi (means Donut) Flancati consisting of flour, constarch,eggs and leaven. Also Apple pie consisting of lots apples,raisin,cimet,butter,sugar and breadcrumbs. This foods which I mentioned it, are really really good sarapppppppp....

The arc of the alps extends to Slovenia through the south east limestone alps so the ridges are sharp, there are extensive screes beneath the crumbling cliffs and overall, there is powerful glacial formation. The image is completed by the characteristic white grey colour and the varied flora.

The western group, the Julian alps, is closely associated with Triglav (2864m), the highest peak and national symbol of Slovenia, also potrayed on the country´s coat-of-arms. A wide area. Three river cut into the triglav massif: the Soca, the Sava Dolinka and Sava Bohinjka.

Bled, Lipica, Portoroz, Postojna and the Capital (Ljubljana) are the best know places for the tourist here in Slovenia.

Bled because of its Lake, On the middle of the Lake located the a very small beautiful church and very popular for tourist. Going there you must take the boat. This church is very popular for the tourist not because is beautiful, people do get married here but not the Locals, the tourist, including us, and former president of the Slovenia. On this Church theres a saying if you get married here after the ceremony you had to make a wish and ring the bell three times. During the winter the Lake is very icy, you can do the ice skating if you want. Beside the Church theres a Castle and Museum on the Top. Also you can play a minigolf. Lipica for its horses. Postojna for its famous underground caves. Portoroz becuase of its beautiful coast Germans and Italians are most popular visitors here in portoroz during the summer.

Changing the Plan

Yesterday, Mare and I arrange that we will go to the shopping mall to buy some stuffs but plan was changed due to the snow. Yup, it was snowing the whole day. So we didn´t go.. I need to buy also some springclothes for me. Maybe tomorrow if the weather will be good

Almost one month now, since i remember that I was been in the shopping back then I was just at home with the twins. The reason was the Virus spreading here in Slovenia. Many people have flue and difficult to breath. Hospitals are full no more space for others. Most of the sick are the Infants and young kids. Doctors advices not to bring the kid to the open places.

My Twins (Patrick and Joshua) are already 15 months old. I remember when got born theyre so tiny and very soft. At this stage is very difficult for me because they always fight from one to another. Maybe because of the gums, teeth still coming out. I have difficulties with Patrick, he always want me to carry him. his very idle to walk but unlike Joshua, his opposite of him. But on the otherside theyre so cute twins. some of the people saying that theyre not my sons because were not similar to each other. You know having a twins is not easy job. Doing things twice.

Joshua is the eldest. when he was born, weight 2 kls. & 487 grms. while Patrick, weight 2 kls & 586 grms. here in Slovenia they dont use the lbs. Twins born on the cs section. I remember before i gave birth, I almost can´t walk coz my tummy was so big. I eves see my fingers on my foot or cutting them. On the otherside I am happy that theyre very healthy and clever boys.
